Davis Has Speed to Burn

2015 Mission Hills (Calif.) Bishop Alemany cornerback Dominic Davis is one of the top underclass corners in the West...

Alemany rallied for an exciting 29-26 win over a solid La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat on Friday. One of the standout players for the Warriors was two-way athlete Dominic Davis. Davis looked explosive running the ball but corner is where he really shined.

He's about 5-foot-10 and a solid 175-pounds. He has a great burst and is easily among the fastest players in the state. Davis clocked a 10.7-100m a year ago and his coaches feel he could run in the 10.5 range this year. He shows that same explosiveness on the field and has a gear you just don't see very often at the H.S level.

On the recruiting front, Davis is hearing from a few local programs and has a NW leader.

"I really like Oregon," Davis said. "I like the way they play on both sides of the ball. I like their speed and how fast they play and I think I would fit in well there. They're sending me letters right now so hopefully I can visit there over the summer.

"I like the Pac 12, I like USC and UCLA too. I don't care if I play offense or defense, it doesn't matter to me. I'll play running back, slot, corner, it doesn't matter, I just want to play. I'll go to some summer camps this year and hopefully get noticed but I haven't decided where I'm going yet."
