VIDEO: Lucien Talks Season So Far

Devin Lucien talks about his role on the team this year, why he chose UCLA coming out of high school, and the offense's struggles recently...

Devin Lucien:

On the offense:
With the offense, I don't think anything bad is going on. I just think we need to find that itch again to just make our plays and do what we've been practicing since fall camp. We just need to put our heads together and figure out some kind of way to get us going again. I don't want to say it's not a big deal, but it's something we need to work on.

On if this is the toughest stretch for the offense since he's been there:
Oh yes, it's tough because everyone expects so much. When you're going in and everyone expects something from you, you want to go out there and play your best and have your best performance and that hasn't been happening the past two weeks. We just have to play our best and I think everything will be fine.

On getting the downfield passing game going:
I wouldn't say we've been working on it anymore than we have since spring. Like I said before, it needs to click. Throwing the ball down field takes a lot. We have a young offensive line, as you know. We need a great offensive line to make blocks under pressure, on Stanford and Oregon, who have great fronts, you need the receivers running great routes.
