Prospect Recap: Week Nine

We look at how UCLA's commits and recruits did in week ten action...

Game of the Week:  West Hills Chaminade def. La Canada St. Francis, 56-35
Chaminade got an efficient night from Brad Kaaya, the UCLA recruit at quarterback, going 18-for-24 for 235 yards and an interception.  Donovan Lee, though, was the star, rushing for 274 yards and seven touchdowns in the win.  Sophomore Dymond Lee had the other touchdown and had 59 yards on four receptions.   UCLA commit Jojo McIntosh anchored a secondary that held the Knights to 12 first half points.

Bellflower St. John Bosco def. Anaheim Servite, 42-21
UCLA target Josh Rosen was 20-for-30 for 219 yards, a touchdown pass, a touchdown run and an interception.  Jaleel Wadood, another UCLA target, ran for a touchdown, caught eight passes, chipped in seven tackles and had a tackle for a loss.  An offensive line led by UCLA target Damien Mama paved the way for 219 yards.

Gardena Serra def. Santa Fe Springs St. Paul, 56-10
Adoree Jackson had a 47-yard interception return for a touchdown and a 36-yard interception return for a score and UCLA commit Jordan Lasley had a 23-yard touchdown to clinch an unbeaten regular season and the top seed in the CIF-SS Western Division playoffs.

El Cerrito def. St. Patrick's-St. Vincent, 49-13
UCLA commit Adarius Pickett had over 100 yards rushing, three touchdowns and a one-handed interception.

Lawndale def. Compton Centennial, 20-18
UCLA commit Denzel Fisher had his prep career come to an end with the loss to Lawndale.

Elk Grove Cosumnes Oaks def. West Sacramento River City, 48-21
Four-star 2014 receiver Alex Van Dyke had another monster game with seven catches for 190 yards and four touchdowns in the blowout win.  Four-star 2015 receiver L.J. Reed added a touchdown reception.

Lompoc def. Lompoc Cabrillo, 63-14
Lompoc won the Los Padres League title with a dominant performance against crosstown foe Cabrillo and also got a 40-yard reception from four-star defensive tackle Ainuu Taua.

Corona Centennial def. Corona, 74-0
UCLA commit Barry Ware had a pair of catches for 42 yards, but both went for touchdowns and UCLA target Tre Watson ran for 116 yards on just nine carries and a touchdown.

Norco def. Corona Santiago, 56-21
UCLA recruit Blake Barnett was just 15-for-27 for 192 yards with two touchdowns but threw two interceptions and was held to just 17 yards on eight carries in the loss.  UCLA commit Ron Robinson had six tackles in the loss.

Pomona Diamond Ranch def. La Verne Bonita, 25-15
Diamond Ranch won their league title, thanks to another good game on defense by UCLA target Kammy Delp, who had two tackles for loss and two pass deflections from his defensive line position.  But Delp made his biggest impact on offense, where the offensive line helped Diamond Ranch rush for 292 yards in the win.

Los Angeles View Park def. Sun Valley, forfeit
Newest UCLA commit Cameron Griffin had his game be a win by forfeit.  View Park landed the top seed for the City Section D-III playoffs which begin this week.

Chandler (Ariz.) def. Mesa (Ariz.) Skyline, 55-16
UCLA 2015 quarterback recruit Bryce Perkins was 18-for-22 for 293 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for a pair of touchdowns and UCLA commit Dionte Sykes had a 42-yard touchdown in the playoff victory.

Carmel (Ind.) def. Fort Wayne (Ind.) Carroll, 38-7
UCLA commit Austin Roberts and Carmel moved on to the regional's in the Indiana State playoffs.

Auburn (Ala.) def. Mobile (Ala.) Murphy, 51-14
Auburn got an interception from UCLA commit Antreal Allen and a sack from Rashaan Evans in their playoff win.

Sarasota (Fla.) Booker def. Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney, 26-14
UCLA commit Marlon Mack ran for 273 yards and four touchdowns, two of them from 80+ yards in a win over rival Cardinal Mooney.

Galena Park (Texas) North Shore def. Deer Park (Texas), 34-3
UCLA's newest commit Najee Toran and North Shore rolled over North Shore in their final regular season contest.
