Could Be a Battle for Lasley

Gardena (Calif.) Serra wide receiver Jordan Lasley committed to UCLA in the summer but has seen increased interest from his childhood favorite...

Jordan Lasley emerged over the summer as one of the region's top receiver prospects. He camped at UCLA, picked up a scholarship offer and committed the following week. Lasley looked solid with the Bruins all season but when USC threw their hat in the ring, his childhood favorite, you knew things would get interesting.

Lasley attended the USC- Stanford game Saturday night and said he was impressed with what he saw.

"It was cool, it was a crazy atmosphere there," Lasley said. "It probably wasn't quite as loud as the games during the Reggie Bush era, those crowds were really live but it was still really loud in there. SC stepped up and made the plays to win. Stanford kept giving SC momentum and they were able to get the win.

"I was down on the field afterwards and that was cool, I had a good time there. Coach Orgeron is doing a great job and in my opinion, I think he deserves to be the new head coach. He has the team playing hard and they're having fun again. It's going to be an interesting hire for sure and we'll see what happens with it."

Lasley said his commitment to UCLA remains strong but he'll take a few more official visits after earlier visiting Utah.

"I'm solid with UCLA, I like them a lot," Lasley said. "I'm just weighing out the pros and cons of all the schools before I kind of settle on a final decision later on. I'm going to visit Boise State (Dec. 13) but I need to make sure that date doesn't conflict with the CIF playoffs for us. Jalen (Greene) has been on me all year so I'm excited for that trip.

"I'm going to take visits to UCLA and USC in January on back to back weekends but haven't set either date yet. Those will be big for me though, it will give me a chance to compare the schools to each other. That's why I want to do them on back to back weeks and I'm looking forward to that. I'll definitely be at the Rose Bowl for UCLA's game with Arizona State this week as well and I'm excited to see the team in action."
