Jaleel Wadood is having a huge senior year and showing he's easily among the top prospects out West. He can do just about anything on a football field and has been dominant on offense, defense and special teams.
The athlete committed last summer to California but has maintained he wants to keep his options open and take all of his official visits. He was in Utah over the weekend.
"I had a lot of fun out there, it was a good trip," Wadood said. "The game atmosphere and just the fan support in general were my favorite parts of the visit. I loved the facilities too. They have a great weight room and training complex there that I was really impressed with.
"Utah played a good game, especially on defense. I thought they were going to knock off Arizona State but just needed a little more offense there in the end. I was hosted by Dominique Hatfield, who went to Crenshaw out here and I knew a few other guys as well so it was a real good time."
Wadood added the coaching staff and the relationship with the players and coaches was another thing that stood out.
"Everyone gets along great, it's a big family out there," Wadood said. "I like the whole staff a lot and I felt very comfortable out there. It was good to get away for a weekend and experience something new. Utah was cool but I'm still committed to Cal right now.
"My next visit will be to UCLA next weekend. I still haven't set up my last two trips yet but I know one of them will be to Cal and my last visit will be to either Washington or USC. Once I'm done with my visits, I'll sit back and evaluate everything and make a final decision on what school is best for me."
