The Bruins have Griffin's attention and he's talked with them, albeit minimally, since he opened things up.
"UCLA messaged me when I decommitted, but nothing really happened," said Griffin. "I haven't asked Myles to talk about me, but I might soon."
Griffin said interest from the Bruins would certainly be reciprocated.
"I'm definitely interested in them and I would love an offer," said Griffin.
Other schools have been showing interest in Griffin too since he opened it up.
"I've gotten new interest from Notre Dame, Mississippi State and Boise State," said Griffin. "Mississippi State is going to offer me very soon from what they say. And I'm still dealing with my regular schools like Arizona, California and Washington State."
Arizona State is also a school that Griffin has interest in.
"Connor Humphreys and Tashan Smallwood are trying to get me an Arizona State offer," said Griffin. "They want me to join them at Arizona State."
Griffin said he's maintaining interest in Washington State and that the Cougar coaches continue to recruit him.
Cal is also putting an emphasis on him and he visited unofficially this spring.
"Coach (Barry) Sacks loves me," said Griffin.
Griffin said he plans to visit Cal, Washington State and Mississippi State, should they offer, with those trips likely coming in mid-December and January.
With Bellevue the prohibitive favorite to win the 3A state title, the earliest weekend he's likely to have is the second weekend in December.
Next month, he'll be honored at his school with his Semper Fi jersey for the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl.
And a decision isn't likely to come until February.
"I'll decide on Signing Day most likely," said Griffin.
This weekend, Bellevue takes on Gig Harbor (Wash.) Peninsula in the state quarterfinals.
