New Development on White

The starting tackle who had been out with a broken leg, Torian White, was arrested Sunday, but the first development in the situation since is a positive one...

The District Attorney rejected filing charges against Torian White, according to sources.

White, a redshirt sophomore offensive lineman, was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of felony sexual assault. He was held without bail until Wednesday, when he was released.

UCLA police responded to a call from an apartment complex about 3:00 a.m. Sunday, and White was arrested and booked a short time later.

Even though the D.A. has rejected the case, White is still not completely in the clear. If it follows the usual protocol, the case will be referred to the City Attorney who could move for a misdemeanor filing.

White still might also have to face some action brought by UCLA's student judicial process.

White, the starting left tackle, was sitting out for almost certainly the remainder of the season after he suffered a broken leg during the Utah game October 3rd that required surgery.
