Keith Jackson, 6-6, 300, Inglewood (Calif.) High, is truly a mountain of a man, and it seems, a somewhat undiscovered mountain.
Jackson said that just UCLA and San Jose State have offered him scholarships, while he's hearing from most of the Pac-10, including Oregon, USC, Arizona, Arizona State and Washington. He also said he'd like to check out Wisconsin on an official visit.
But right now, Jackson said UCLA is his clear favorite. "It's close to home and just a nice place."
Jackson, though, said he's not close to committing. "I want to wait until after my senior season. I just want to see all my options, see what's out there. I think I'd like to take all of my visits."
When asked what side of the ball he prefers, Jackson said, "I like both defense and offense equally. Schools are recruiting me for both and I'm fine with that."
Jackson said he has about a 2.9 GPA and scored a 980 on his SAT.
We also spoke with Jackson's "little" brother, Lawrence Jackson, who is a 6-4, 245-pound junior defensive end at Inglewood. Lawrence said he recorded 16 sacks last year as a sophomore and has heard from some schools. "My favorite is Miami, even though I haven't heard from them yet," Lawrence said. "But I could really consider UCLA. I really want to leave and get away, but if I thought that I'd want to stay, I'd definitely think about UCLA."
