Joining him were five UCLA assistant coaches, and their head coach, Jim Mora.
"It went well, really well," said Pickett. "The whole coaching staff was talking like we're family and we were eating and having a good time. Coach Mora was here, Coach Meat (Demetrice Martin), Coach Angus (McClure), Coach (Adrian) Klemm, Coach (Noel) Mazzone and Coach (Lou) Spanos all came."
Pickett said he and his family asked Mora, who's been named as a candidate for the Washington job, about his long term plans at UCLA.
"Coach Mora told me he's 100% at UCLA," said Pickett. "I asked Coach Meat too about Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian) taking the SC job, what he was thinking. He said everybody there really loves UCLA and they're 100% with UCLA and that's why they all came to see me."
Pickett said that reassurance further strengthened his verbal to the Bruins.
"They're 100% UCLA, I'm 100% UCLA and that's why I'm true to my commitment. I'm real comfortable with the coaching staff and comfortable with the players," said Pickett.
Pickett said he's looking forward to his CIF-NCS Championship game this weekend against Kentfield (Calif.) Marin Catholic.
"We just want to win this NCS championship," said Pickett. "We want revenge for last year (a loss to Marin Catholic in the finals)."
