McIntosh Opens Up the Process

West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade defensive back Jojo McIntosh committed to UCLA back in August but the safety has decided to open up his recruitment...

Jojo McIntosh narrowed his to choices to UCLA and Boise State before committing to the Bruins last August. Fast forward a few months and the defensive back has decided to open up the process.

"I guess you can call me a soft commit now," McIntosh said. "I just want to open things back up and weigh all my options. I committed so early in the process so I want to make sure I'm making the right decision. I'm going to take some visits and then go from there.

"I talked to Coach Meat (Demetrice Martin) today and he said he's fine with me taking the visits. He wants me to experience the recruiting process too so he's comfortable with me doing the trips."

McIntosh has already been in touch with new Washington Coach Chris Petersen. McIntosh nearly chose the Broncos when Petersen was at the helm so the Huskies could be a natural fit.

"I actually talked to Coach Petersen today," McIntosh said. "He said they're very interested in me and he wants me to come up for a visit. I heard Washington has a need for defensive backs and that was one of things with UCLA, they have a lot of DBs already committed.

"Minnesota and Washington State are two other schools I'm hearing from and I'm going to look in to taking a visit out there as well. Right now, I'm just going in to this with an open mind and we'll see what happens."
