Allen Opens Up Recruitment

Auburn (Ala.) defensive back Antreal Allen committed to UCLA way back in August but the corner has decided to open up the recruiting process...

Antreal Allen was a surprise commitment to UCLA back in August when he committed to the Bruins sight unseen. On Tuesday morning, Allen decided to open up the recruiting process and check out all his options.

"I talked to UCLA DB coach Demetrice Martin and decided this was the best thing for me," Allen said. "UCLA has a lot of DB commits right now so I think it's probably good for me to look around a little and make sure I'm making the best decision for me.

"It's early enough that I'll be able to contact some of the schools that had offered me earlier in the process. I'm going to take some trips in January but I don't have anyone in mind right now. All of the schools that were talking to me had backed off since I committed so I'm going to call them up and see what's up."

Before committing, Allen had offers from Arizona, Arkansas State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State and Western Kentucky.

"Arizona is one school I'm definitely interested in," Allen. "After that, I'm not sure but I'm just going to play it out and see what happens. Like I said, I have a lot of time here so hopefully things pick up for me and I should have a better idea where I'm going after I take some trips."
