How Solid is Jordan Lasley?

Gardena (Calif.) Serra wide receiver Jordan Lasley committed to UCLA over the summer, but has since gotten much more attention from USC...

After beating Chaminade 36-0 earlier in the year, Serra was stunned last Friday in the CIF Western Div. Championship 38-35 on a last second field goal as time expired. Despite the loss, wide out Jordan Lasley had a big game with five catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns.

" I can't believe we went out like this," Lasley said following the game. "I'm in disbelief right now, I'm pretty shocked. I thought we were well prepared for the game but we just came up a little short, don't know what else to think right now."

Lasley was always a solid route runner and a natural pass catcher. He has developed his speed and quickness and is one of the most explosive receivers after the catch and getting in and out of his breaks. He's easily among the top pass catchers in the region with a very nice upside.

On the recruiting front, Lasley gave an early commitment to UCLA and although he still feels solid in his commitment, USC is still in the picture as well.

"I had a home visit with all the UCLA coaches last week," Lasley said. "It was good, Jim Mora was in there with both of the Mazzone's, Coach Yarber, I can't even remember all of them. It was good, I like the staff a lot and Coach Yarbs is a great coach and they have big plans for me.

"I'm still talking a little with USC and Tee Martin. I haven't heard from Sark (Steve Sarkisian) or anyone else yet but USC wants me to take a visit and I'm planning to do that in January. I'm going to visit both schools back to back weekends and then sit down and re-evaluate everything. I'll make a final decision at that time but I still feel really good about UCLA right now."
