VIDEO: Mazzone on Virginia Tech

Offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone talks about the Virginia Tech defensive front and whether he's talked to Brett Hundley about the NFL...

Noel Mazzone:

On what he's seen from Virginia Tech's defense:
Good defense. I've known Bud Foster since I was in the ACC at NC State. They're kind of known for creating turnovers, playing hard, being very athletic. It's going to be a great challenge for us.

On their 4-4 defense:
He's done that, he's one of the top defensive coordinators in the country and gets his kids to play hard. They have some really athletic young kids and their back end kids are athletic. Both ends are athletic and they know what they want to do. He's been coaching that for a long time.

On the offensive linemen having two weeks to prepare:
It helps everybody, but the flip side is, their defense has two weeks to prepare for us. It evens out.

On Devin Lucien:
He's got more confidence. It's like a girl. You ask her and ask her and ask her and ask her if she wants to go on a date, and she says yes, the next one is a lot easier. That's how he is. You make your first touchdown catch, he's proud of how he's played the last few games.

On how Craig Lee and Asiantii Woulard look:
Asiantii has come a long ways. He ran the scout team. Every day, he learns how to run the offense better. This is a great opportunity for him coming in to spring ball. I think the live stuff has been good for him. I'd like for him to develop more pocket presnece. He has some great schools, like throwing the football.

On if he thinks about him as an insurance policy:
All I'm worried about right now is getting my guys ready for Virginia Tech. Whatever happens, happens. All that other stuff takes care of itself.

On if he's talked with Hundley:
About Virginia Tech? Yeah. He's going to be a Hokie.
