Branch Ready for Offseason

Bellevue (Wash.) 2015 outside linebacker Mustafa Branch (6-0, 210), missed a good chunk of his junior season with a broken collarbone, but came back with a few regular season games left and was along for the whole Wolverine run to the state championship.

"I missed a lot of the year, so it just felt good to be back with the team and just winning," said Branch.

While the Wolverines haven't lost since 2009, Branch's streak is "only" at 28 games.

"We haven't lost in a long time, but just having a 28-game winning streak is kind of scary," said Branch. "We don't want to be the ones who end it."

Branch got his first offer last month and it came from the Big Ten.

"My offer was from Northwestern," said Branch. "I was excited and it was so random. I had no clue it was going to happen."

Branch, though, is open to many schools, especially in the early going.

"I like Washington, UCLA, Oregon, Washington State, Colorado and USC," said Branch.

Branch has former teammates at a handful of those schools and the new USC coaching staff was well aware of him when they were at Washington.

"I'm looking forward to the recruiting process and just the whole offseason of football," said Branch.

Academically, Branch has a 3.7 GPA and will take the SAT in the spring.
