Florida Prospect Plans to Visit UCLA

The 6-0, 190-pound safety prospect is down to two Pac-12 schools and one Big Ten program...

Miramar (Fla.) senior safety Andre Godfrey is starting to wrap up things with his recruitment.

"Things are starting to get closer and I may be going on the 17th of January to UCLA," Godfrey told BadgerNation. "I probably won't take anymore official visits after that. I like to make my decision soon, so probably a week or two after my UCLA visit. I am just looking for how the campus is like, what the coaches are like and that is basically it. I will go where I feel most comfortable. My top list is Wisconsin, UCLA and Utah in no order."

The 6-0, 180-pound physical safety took an official visit to Wisconsin on Oct.12, and made their presence felt.

"I speak to (Wisconsin coaches) all the time," said Godfrey. "I had an in-home visit with (them) awhile ago and it went very good. They told me that I could come right in and make an impact. They are not really trying to force me to commit or anything like that because they aren't the type to do so. I see that program headed in the right direction and coming in, I would look to compete right away.

"There is no problem with the distance regarding Wisconsin. I just need to find the place that is most comfortable to me. It does also help that Wisconsin is recruiting Florida guys because I know they will have the same mind set as me."

A new program that has emerged for Godfrey is Utah. He recently took an official visit to Salt Lake City, and he was impressed.

"The official visit to Utah went good," said Godfrey. "It was better than what I expected. I thought it was going to be kind of boring, but there was a lot to do in Utah."
