Gardena (Calif.) Serra linebacker Dwight Williams announced that he has committed to UCLA during the second quarter of the Army Bowl on Saturday.
Williams, who didn't include UCLA in his top 5, was a long-time UCLA lean prior to cutting his list to five. There were some indications that the Bruins had cooled on Williams in recent weeks, which may have led to Williams not including them in his top five, but in the last few days, we've heard indications that UCLA would take Williams' commitment.
During the ceremony, Williams surprisingly included a UCLA hat on the table, despite announcing that the Bruins were not in his top five.
"UCLA has a great law program, and I can't wait to get into it," Williams told NBC.
Williams is the second linebacker commitment for UCLA in as many days, joining Zach Whitley, who also shocked many by flipping his commitment from Alabama to UCLA yesterday.
With Williams in tow, the Bruins are still pursuing linebacker prospects Rashaan Evans, from Auburn (Ala.) and Kenny Young, from River Ridge (La.) John Curtis Christian.
