UCLA Recruiting Pflueger

2015 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei shooting guard Rex Pflueger had his stock rise with a number of schools after a very productive summer on the AAU circuit...

With several offers already in hand, 6-foot-5, 185-pound Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei shooting guard Rex Pflueger doesn't have a ton to prove to many of the schools recruiting him at this point.

The 2015 prospect is happy with where his game is at in the midst of his junior year.

"It's getting a lot better," Pflueger said. "I'm playing with a lot more confidence. I know I have the skills; I'm just doing the things I know I can do and working hard every possession. I still want to improve on everything but mostly ball handling."

While Pflueger says that Stanford, USC, UCLA, Cal, San Diego State, Florida, Notre Dame and UConn are recruiting him the hardest, he's not in a rush to get serious about his recruitment.

"I'm wide open right now; I don't have any favorites," he said. "I've told the coaches that I want to focus on my season. We want a national championship and the coaches understand that."

Pflueger is still a ways from making a decision – "I don't know for sure but probably around the beginning of my senior season," he said – but he does have an idea of what he'll be looking for in a school.

"Definitely how they bring me in," Pflueger said. "I want to start right away when I go there. And then just looking at the team; I want somewhere that they play together."
