Fisher Talks About UCLA Visit

Compton (Calif.) Centennial defensive back Denzel Fisher has been a long time commitment to UCLA and took his official visit over the weekend...

Denzel Fisher is one of the top corners in the West with a long, lean, athletic frame and a significant upside. He has shown improved quickness and top-end speed to go along with his toughness and size. If he continues to improve his overall athleticism, he has a chance to be a very good college player.

Fisher committed to UCLA early in the fall and took his official visit over the weekend.

"It was everything I expected and more, I loved it," Fisher said. "The biggest thing for me was it felt like home. I guess that makes sense since it is home being so close to my house. I have a connection with the players and coaches already so it's easy to feel comfortable there.

"My favorite part of the visit was sitting in the meeting rooms with Coach Meat (Martin) and going over the schemes on defense and the different techniques they do. Coach Meat is a great coach and a great guy as well. They play a lot of press and also off-man so I think I fit in really well there."

Spending time with a head coach Jim Mora was another highlight for Fisher.

"Coach Mora was with us everywhere we went," Fisher said. "He's a great guy and I can't wait to play for him. Kenny Walker was my host and he was real cool, all the players were. UCLA is just a great fit like I said, great football, location and academics and I can't wait to get there. I'm going in trying to play right away and I plan to work my butt off to make it happen."
