Scouting: Ballage made a name for himself when he recorded a 4.39 40-yard dash, which is exceptional for anyone, especially a player who is 6-2 and 220. Many believe he could end up a linebacker in college, but the general consensus is that a guy who is 6-2 and 220 and can run a 4.39 40 would probably contribute somewhere.
For UCLA, UCLA running backs coach Kennedy Polamalu had a connection with Ballage, and Polamalu likes the bigger back, rather than the smaller, scat-back type. UCLA has offered Ballage, and would like to bring in two running backs in 2014, even though they'd still be content with the one in the fold, Nathan Starks. Jim Mora and Polamalu will have an in-home visit with Ballage Wednesday.
Ballage visited Arizona State last weekend, and here's a snippet of what he told the Scout.com ASU site: "It was a really good visit and I had a good time. This place from top to bottom really has it all."
On taking other visits: "It's always good to visit other schools so it will reassure your decision."
