Dupre Recaps Florida State Visit

Five-star River Ridge (La.) John Curtis Christian wide receiver Malachi Dupre took an official visit to Florida State this weekend, and has one visit remaining...

River Ridge (La.) John Curtis Christian receiver Malachi Dupre's recruitment has long been thought to be a UCLA vs. LSU battle, but with an official visit to Florida State this past weekend, that thinking could be changing.

"The visit to FSU was my best visit ever," Dupre told Scout's Chad Simmons. "I got to hang with Jameis Winston and the coaches a lot--it was great."

Florida State is pitching Dupre on filling an immediate need, with the departure of Kelvin Benjamin, and Dupre is receptive to the idea.

"I am a need to them, not a want, and that stood out to me," Dupre said.

Even with the visit going so well, Dupre stopped short of naming the Seminoles his leader, instead saying that Florida State is definitely "up there" for him.

UCLA, of course, will get Dupre's last visit, as he and teammate Kenny Young will travel to Westwood on January 31st. Both of the Louisiana players have made multiple trips out to Westwood, and the thinking is that the final trip could give Dupre a great deal to think about heading into the final days before Signing Day.

Later this week, Dupre will have LSU coaches in home, prior to his trip out to Los Angeles.

Along with four-star Michiah Quick, Dupre is one of the last receiver targets for UCLA in the 2014 class, and would represent quite a coup for the Bruins if they were to land his commitment.
