Just a few days after Signing Day, the Bruins offered a player who won't sign for almost two more years with anyone.
UCLA offered Concord (Calif.) De La Salle 2016 four-star Boss Tagaloa, (6-3, 285), on Sunday.
And it was his first Pac-12 offer.
"I just got offered by UCLA," said Tagaloa. "Coach (Kennedy) Polamalu offered me. "It came as a surprise but God works in a mysterious way."
The Bruins follow Ole Miss, who offered last fall, in offer Tagaola.
"I have two offers now but hopefully more will come in soon" said Tagaloa. "It's exciting."
A four-star as an offensive lineman, one of a small select few in the 2016 out West already with stars, the offer came for the other side of the ball.
"I'm a defensive lineman," said Tagaloa. "They offered as a defensive tackle."
Tagaloa said he's hoping to get down to visit UCLA during the spring.
"We're waiting to set those up, but I'm not sure yet when," said Tagaloa.
Tagaloa said a number of other schools have been in contact, several of them Pac-12 schools.
An All-State Sophomore pick in 2013, Tagaloa first caught our attention when he was named to the All-Underclass Team last spring at the Oakland NFTC.
He joined the varsity at De La Salle, the storied program in the East Bay, as a freshman in time for their 2012 CIF State Open Division title and started on their CIF State Open runner-up squad last December.
