VIDEO: Travis Wear on Shooting

Travis Wear gives his thoughts on the matchup with Stephen F. Austin and also discusses his shooting hot streak of late...

Travis Wear:

On the win over Tulsa:
I think we were trading buckets a little bit. The next game, we'll have a better effort on the backboard if we want to survive in this tournament.

On being in double figures:
It was just spacing out, finding open spots. Our guards were penetrating and I found daylight and got into open space.

On his game of late:
I'm just making open shots really. I don't think I've taken a contested shot really. I've been shooting the ball with confidence. When I shoot the ball, I feel like there is no doubt in my mind that it's going in. I was trying to find my rhythm coming off surgery and now I'm getting into the flow earlier and capitalizing on it.

On Tulsa's defense:
They're a great defensive team, we only shot 30-something percent in the first half. They're scrappy, they get after it, they pressure you. I think we started making the extra pass and not forcing it into the lane and hitting the open guy.

On if he watched any games:
You know, all of them, we had to sit around all day so we were peeking on the TV. That's what you do this time of year, you sit around and watch basketball. It's great. When you see upsets left and right, no one is safe. In this tournament, anyone can upset anyone. I think you come out and you don't want to make mistakes, but I think when we got in the second half we were better.
