VIDEO: Bryce Alford on First Tourney

Bryce Alford talks about playing for the Sweet-16 on Sunday and what it'll take to avoid a letdown against Stephen F. Austin...

Bryce Alford:

On getting out of a David-Goliath mentality vs. Stephen F. Austin:
Well, we have to respect them. They've won 30-something games in a row and any time you do that at the D-I level, you're a great basketball team. They're very disciplined in how they play, they're well-coached. It's going to be a tough game and we know that coming in.

On SFA's defense:
I think we have to approach it like any game and we've done it all year, and that's where we hang our hat, moving the ball and sharing the ball on offense. They do a great job on defense of pressuring you and denying the wings and not let you get in an operational offense so we can't shy away.

On playing for a berth in the Sweet 16:
It's a great feeling so far, being able to go out there and win our first game, that's the one you have to get under your belt. It was really good to get that one.

On closing games:
I think we've done a good job of doing that. Our record has been good, a stat, when we're up with five minutes left, I think we've won every game. Being poised and composed at the end of games has really helped us.
