Possibility with 2014 Guard

The rumor of a top-100 combo guard from the midwest -- who is signed elsewhere -- could get out of his NLI and possibly come to UCLA...

We're hearing from sources in the midwest that Sandy Cohen, the 6-5 combo guard, who signed a NLI with Marquette, could possibly consider transferring to UCLA.

Cohen, from Seymour, Wisconsin, is a four-star prospect by Scout.com, and the #85-ranked prospect in the country.

He's ranked as a shooting guard, while some consider him a forward and others a point guard. He has a good feel, ball-handling and passing ability for a 6-5 player, and just a decent shot and average athleticism. He's ranked in the top 100 because of his superior basketball I.Q. and ability to handle the ball and create for others.

Cohen had tweeted a few days ago that he been released from his Marquette NLI, but Marquette disputed that. There is apparently a Marquette policy that when a coach leaves a signed prospect must meet with the new, incoming coach before he's given a release. Sources close to the situation believe, however, it's a formality and that Cohen is transferring.

We've heard he could want to stay close to home and remain in Wisconsin. There is a connection, however, with UCLA-committed prospect Kevon Looney, who is from Milwaukee (Wisc.) Hamilton.
