In fact, of Rector's nine offers, seven of them are from the Pac-12.
A couple of other schools in the Pac-12 could be close.
Rector has visited both USC and UCLA and plans to visit Cal and Oregon soon.
"I took an unofficial visit to USC last week and it was good," said Rector. "I liked the practice and the atmosphere. Coach (Chris) Wilson is recruiting me. I know Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian) too and he's a cool guy. I got to know him a little bit. I plan to go to a couple more spring practices."
Prior to that, Rector visited UCLA unofficially.
"I took an unofficial a couple of weeks ago to UCLA," said Rector. "It was good there. I like the city and the location of the campus. Coach Tui (Mike Tuiasosopo) and Coach (Jeff) Ulbrich are recruiting me. Coach (Kennedy) Polamalu isn't really recruiting me but he's always on campus because his son is there. They just started up spring ball, so I'm going to get out to one of their spring practice. I talked to Coach (Jim) Mora a little bit on the visit and he's a good guy and very friendly and personable."
Rector is getting plenty of attention from the hometown schools but said he doesn't have a leader.
"Those two schools, USC and UCLA are recruiting me the hardest and there is kind of pressure to stay home," said Rector. "But I'm completely wide open right now."
Rector said most schools see him as an end, except the two Los Angeles schools.
"USC and UCLA are recruiting me as an outside linebacker," said Rector. "The rest of the schools are recruiting me as a defensive end."
Rector said he's hoping to put on another 10-15 pounds in the offseason, wanting to get to 250 by the time fall rolls around.
He'd also like to have a decision made around roughly the same time.
"I'm looking at summer, like August, for when I want to commit," said Rector. "I don't want to worry about it."
Rector camped at the Los Angeles NFTC last month and plans to do a few college camps.
"I'm planning to going to USC and UCLA camps and maybe Cal and I think Colorado is doing one locally so I'll probably go to that one too," said Rector.
