Sacramento (Calif.) Capital Christian athlete Justice Shelton-Mosley (6-0, 180) spent some time in Big Ten country last weekend.

Next up: some time in Pac-12 country.

This weekend, Shelton-Mosley will be at California for Junior Day and then early next week he'll head down to Southern California to visit UCLA.

Last weekend, Shelton-Mosley visited Northwestern and had an experience unlike any he'd had before.

"Man, Northwestern was fun," said Shelton-Mosley. "I had a great time with the coaching staff and we have a great relationship. I miss the place. I made a great relationship with the DB coach, Coach (Mick) McCall and then I spent most of the time with Coach (Jerry) Brown. Coach Brown is a really wise man and he has been at Northwestern for a long time."

Shelton-Mosley had been offered by the Wildcats prior to his visit and he said that allowed him to enjoy the trip more.

"I was offered before the visit but I was going there anyway because I had the visit planned before," said Shelton-Mosley. "I wanted to see how it was and what was I getting myself into. It was better I went this time of year because I got a true perspective."

Shelton-Mosley said he hit it off with Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald.

"Coach Fitz made a really good impression," said Shelton-Mosley. "He's set the standard for the other coaches I meet. He knows how to bond and spoke well about the university."

This weekend, he'll head over to Berkeley to visit Cal.

"I'm going to Cal's Junior Day on Saturday," said Shelton-Mosley. "Cal is recruiting me as a cornerback. I really like them and I think they could be close to offering."

Then during his spring break next week, he'll head down to the Southland.

"On Tuesday, I'm going down to UCLA," said Shelton-Mosley. "We're driving down there and we're going to get a tour, visit with Coach Angus (McClure) and then spend a couple days down there. I'm going to check out a spring practice (on Wednesday)."

Shelton-Mosley said he thinks UCLA could be close to offering too.

"UCLA is up in the air for offering," said Shelton-Mosley. "I'm trying to have a fun experience when I'm down there, but an offer would be a blessing. They're recruiting me mainly as a receiver."

In fact, only Cal and Northwestern like him on defense.

"Cal and Northwestern like me as a cornerback, but the rest are recruiting me mainly as a receiver," said Shelton-Mosley. "The Ivy League schools are actually recruiting me as a running back."

Shelton-Mosley has a half-dozen offers, with Utah joining the mix this week. The Utes followed Northwestern and Duke as well as UC Davis, Harvard and Yale in offering the three-star.

He's also hoping to visit Boise State and Vanderbilt, where his teammate Nifae Lealao signed in February.

"I think Boise State could be close to offering," said Shelton-Mosley. "And with Vandy, Nifae went there and the coaches want me to get out there."

Shelton-Mosley is also joining the 7v7 circuit, with a tournament on Sunday with TMP in the Passing Down regional, with hopes of qualifying for Best in the West at the end of the month.

"It's going to be fun playing with them and just getting back out there," said Shelton-Mosley

Academically, Shelton-Mosley has a 4.1 GPA and has spring SAT plans.
