I spoke with Cage recently and asked about the schools that are recruiting him.
When asked if he has a favorite, Cage replied, "no, not really."
I asked Cage what factors will be important to him when he chooses a school.
"Who is going there at my position and someplace where they use their big men," said Cage. "I don't want to go to a ‘guard-type' school. I want to go someplace where they use their big men. And also someplace where I can get a good education. The location doesn't really matter."
When asked if his family has a preference in terms of location, Cage said, "My mom would like me to be close so she can watch me play. But at the end of the day, she wants me to go where it's the best situation for me."
Cage said he has been up to UCLA to see a practice.
"It was good," said Cage. "The coaches always want them to go hard. I got to walk around a little bit and it's a really nice campus."
When asked about the timing of his decision, Cage said, "I'll probably do it later because you don't really know which coaches are going to leave and which players will end up there. So I may sign in the spring of my senior year."
Cage said he currently has a 3.2 GPA.
