Thursday Practice Report

UCLA's practice on Thursday was a short one, with the team going through an extended walkthrough for Saturday's game and then briefly splitting up into their Saturday teams for practice...

UCLA practiced briefly Saturday morning, essentially using the period to practice the pregame preparation for Saturday's game.

Instead of the normal warmup period, the team went through warmups as they would on the field before the game, with the entire team warming up on just one side of the field.

Caleb Benenoch didn't do much today, with Kenny Lacy filling in for him on the first string offensive line at left tackle, but Jim Mora said after practice that Benenoch is expected to play on Saturday.

Kenny Young, the incoming freshman, was once again at practice. He looks good physically, somewhere between 6'1 and 6'2 and probably about 215 pounds.

After the warmup period, the team split up into the Blue and White teams for Saturday night and walked through a few plays. Most of that portion of practice was spent at half speed, but Randall Goforth did have a nice interception for the first string defensive, picking off Asiantii Woulard one-handed over the middle.

Mora said after practice that the spring game will feature four 12-minute quarters with a running clock and a 7-minute halftime. He said that Brett Hundley will be pulled at some point during the game, and after he's pulled, he'll be available for autographs. The autograph period for the rest of the team (and Hundley) will be before the game from 3 to 3:45.
