VIDEO: Mazzone on Offense

Offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone talks about continuing to develop the offensive line through the offseason and more...

Noel Mazzone:

On if he gave Jeff Ulbrich ribbing for beating him in the spring game:
Nah, that's just how I roll. No big deal. I'm 1-0, he's 0-1.

On if they had a bet before the game:
Yeah, but I can't tell you what it is. Not safe for video.

On the quarterbacks:
Jerry threw a couple he shouldn't have. It was such a makeshift, I let Brett call the plays. If anyone wants to write about the play calling, that was Brett. We kind of stayed very vanilla. I thought this was one of the best springs I've been around in a long time. For me, today was stay healthy, have some fun, throw it around. And let a bunch of guys get in and make a play. It was a good time.

On any specific concerns:
We need to shore up our O-Line. The lack of numbers, one guy goes down, we had to steal a guy. I thought they progressed well, though. Malcolm, Najee, Quess, Caleb, Kenny Lacy, had a good spring. We're excited about the depth at receivers. We don't have that big marquee guy, but my analogy is like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, they're like the posse. Like 'who are those guys?' Nobody knows their name, but it's a good group we're really excited about.

On Craig Lee:
Craig made a lot of strides this spring and he's got a few more strides to make. But those other kids have been with me the whole time. Craig was scout team last year and redshirted so this is his first time with me. But he made some strides.
