Reed Says He's a Bruin

Wide receiver prospect L.J. Reed told us he verbally committed to UCLA at the Spring Game Saturday.

"I committed, I'm a Bruin," Reed said.

Reed is a 6-3, 200-pound prospect from Elk Grove (Calif.) Cosumnes Oaks, ranked the #14 receiver prospedt in teh nation.

Reed is teammates with incoming freshman receiver Alex Van Dyke.

We had heard through sources that Reed had planned to verbally commit to the UCLA coaches at the spring game.

Reed was brought down to the Stub Hub Center by former UCLA running back great Maurice Jones-Drew, who coaches his 7-on-7 team.

"It's a great feeling," Reed said.

Reed, with his 7-on-7 team, will compete in an event Sunday, so we'll have a more in-depth interview with the prospect later today.
