Jaason Lewis Will Take Visits

2015 four-star Virginia Beach (Virg.) Ocean Lakes running back Jaason Lewis is firmly committed to the Bruins, but wants to take some visits to other schools...

Jaason Lewis committed to UCLA nearly three months ago, and, while he still says he's solid to the Bruins, he has plans to check out some other schools.

"I'm still firmly committed to UCLA, but I just want to make sure I look at every option," said the 6-foot-4, 241-pound Lewis. "I'm visiting Arizona State later this month. I'm also visiting Miami and Florida in June – and maybe UCF. Those are the only visits I know of right now."

Lewis is fairly fresh off of visiting UCLA for spring practice, where he was spotted at two practices hanging out with fellow commit Josh Rosen, who would likely be his quarterback in college if Lewis remains committed to UCLA.

Lest UCLA fans fret, Lewis also has locked in his official visit to UCLA -- for what is turning out to be a popular visit weekend.

"I'm taking my official visit there for the Oregon game (October 12th)," Lewis said.

Lewis will be joined on that visit by four-star wide receiver Ryan Newsome and elite junior college defensive end Takkarist McKinley, so that's already shaping up to be one of the major official visit weekends of the Bruins' football season.

Lewis, a four-year varsity starter, is looking forward to his senior campaign, when he'll get a chance to demonstrate his exceptional versatility.

"I'm ready for the season," he said. "I'm going to play H-back, running back, wide receiver and tight end."

Lewis, a four-star prospect and the No. 31 running back in the 2015 class, is likely going to be initially slotted at running back when he arrives at UCLA, but with his body and athleticism, he could fit in at several different positions, including potentially linebacker.
