2015 Virginia Beach (Virg.) Ocean Lakes athlete Jaason Lewis decommitted from UCLA on Monday, he announced over Twitter.
Lewis, a four-star, was UCLA's third commitment in the 2014 class, and the intention was to try him out at running back. The big athlete, who is all of 6'3, 235 pounds, could also conceivably play on the defensive side of the ball.
According to his note on Twitter, Lewis still considers UCLA his number one school, but wanted to open things up to allow other schools a fair shot at him.
Lewis visited UCLA during spring practice and spent time with committed UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen.
Running back Bolu Olorunfunmi committed to UCLA after Lewis made his pledge, and with both players potentially fitting in at the same position, Lewis may have felt the squeeze a bit.
With the decommitment, UCLA now has six commitments in the 2014 class, with five on the offensive side of the ball and one on the defensive.
