2015 quarterback and UCLA commit Josh Rosen is now the No. 1 quarterback in the country, according to the rankings released today.

Rosen, out of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco, had trailed fellow Southern California quarterback Ricky Town in the rankings over the last few months, with Town earning credit for his poise and leadership qualities.

After an average spring, though, Town's stock fell a bit. Rosen, on the other hand, demonstrated improved leadership abilities this spring combined with his usual immense physical talent.

Rosen committed to UCLA in March after being a longtime lean to the Bruins. He is the second five-star commitment for UCLA, joining tight end Alize Jones, who's the second-ranked tight end in the country.

The quarterback rankings this year are packed tightly with Southern Californians. Rosen, Town, Anaheim Servite's Travis Waller, Corona Santiago's Blake Barnett, and Newhall Hart's Brady White are all within the top 9.

Town dropped to No. 3 in the updated quarterback rankings, with Florida native Torrance Gibson taking over the No. 2 spot. With the amount of improvement Waller and Barnett have made in the past year, and their physical upside, it wouldn't be a shock for either of those two to climb the rankings further.
