"There's been a lot of inquiry here in the last 24 hours but there's no list at this point," Ross told Scout.com."I think over the next month we'll formulate a list of the schools that he has an interest in and they have an interest in him and we'll sit up visits, including UConn," Ross said. "I'll think he'll take a visit there." Ali is in the midst of a strong spring playing with Southern Stampede. Through 16 games in the EYBL, Ali is averaging 21.8 points and shooting 45-percent from the field, including 39.2-percent from three. Ali is currently ranked No. 90 overall in the 2015 player rankings.
Ali Backs off Connecticut Pledge
Prince Ali, a four-star shooting guard prospect out of Weston (Fla.) Sagemont, who was committed to Connecticut, reopened his recruitment late Thursday evening. Sagemont coach Adam Ross confirmed the news to Scout.com. "Prince is just looking to have the opportunity to evaluate other schools along with UConn," Ross said. "He felt like because he made a decision very early in his junior year that he missed out on the opportunity to see what other schools have to offer." "UConn is still certainly in the mix and might even still be the leader," Ross added. "He wants to have the freedom to see some other places." Prior to committing to Connecticut, Ross said the 6-3, 180-pound Ali held scholarship offers from Illinois, Washington, Vanderbilt, UCLA, Nebraska and LSU. Ross, at this time, declined to mention the specific additional schools he'd be interested in.
