Meeks Talks About Stanford Offer

San Diego (Calif.) Del Norte athlete Quenton Meeks has seen his stock rise steadily over the last month and on Friday, he landed his dream offer.

Quenton Meeks is a talented two-way player with the ability to play receiver or corner at the next level. He was flying a bit under the radar until landing his first offer in early May from UCLA.

He's now nearing double digit offers and was very excited about his most recent offer Friday.

"I got an offer from Stanford," Meeks said. "I have always wanted an offer from Stanford, ever since 8th grade. That's when I first started following them and learned about their academic prestige.

"They started wining games too but I never thought I would have good enough grades to get in there. They're like an Ivy League school but I kept working hard, got As and Bs and taking challenging classes. With their academics and dominant football program, they instantly became a favorite."

Meeks attended the Cardinal-Notre Dame game last season and plans to make a return trip to the school this summer.

"I loved what I saw but I didn't really do a campus tour, just went to the game," Meeks said. "Coach Anderson is the coach recruiting me and they like me for corner. I plan to visit there this summer along with the other four Pac 12 in-state schools.

"UCLA and California have offered and I'm hearing from USC too. Cal just offered last week and I like their academics. UCLA being the first school to believe in me and offer means a lot to me. I don't have a timeframe for when I'll commit but I would like to do in the summer before my senior year starts."
