Bracey Earns UCLA Offer

2016 four-star Richmond (Virg.) Benedictine wide receiver Scott Bracey has already earned considerable collegiate attention, and the Bruins are on him...

Scott Bracey is one of the top 2016 prospects in the country, and his recruitment has already blown up considerably.

"I have 29 offers," said Scott Bracey. "UCLA was the latest. It's definitely a good program and a very strong school academically." He recently visited three schools.

"The last place I visited was Wake Forest, but in that same week I also visited Duke and NC State," said the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Bracey. "I visited them all over spring break."

The Benedictine standout gave a quick thought on each visit.

"Wake Forest was definitely nice," Bracey said. "I got to talk to coach (Dave) Clawson and he knows a lot of our coaching staff here. Academics are definitely going to play an important part in my decision and they definitely have a prestigious academic school."

"Duke – I really liked Duke a lot. Coach Cutcliffe seems like he's going to stay there for a while. I talked to him for a for a long time. He likes to talk and I definitely like that with a coach. They played for an ACC Championship last year and they're definitely a program on the rise."

"NC State was nice, too. They offered me when I was there. I got to talk to coach (Dave) Doeren and that was when they offered me. They have a good engineering school and that's an area I'm thinking about studying. One thing that stuck out to me was their library. It's pretty unique. It's one of the best in the country.

Bracey does not have any visits scheduled, but said he plans to take trips Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Clemson and Tennessee this summer.

Although he still has two seasons of high school football left, Bracey has a timeline for his recruitment.

"I'll probably narrow my list down next spring," he said. I want to make my decision before my senior season.

A few main things will help him make his choice.

"The main factors are going to be the atmosphere at the school, relationship I have with the coaches and academics," Bracey said.
