St. Brown Still Taking His Time

2015 four-star Anaheim (Calif.) Servite wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown recaps his recent visits and talks about what schools are on him hard...

Equanimeous St. Brown is a very talented player and one of the nation's elite receiver prospects. He's currently the No. 2 rated WR out West and a top 100 player nationally as well.

St. Brown was in the Midwest last week and took the opportunity to visit Notre Dame, Northwestern and Illinois. He then took part in the Sound Mind, Sound Body Camp, got home late Friday night but still hit up the Oregon State Satellite Camp Saturday morning Westminster, California.

"I liked Illinois a lot, I was kind of surprised by it," St. Brown said. "It's an impressive place and the coaches were great with me. The coaches at Northwestern were great too and Coach Fitz is definitely a players coach so both trips went really well."

The visit to South Bend was a particularly big one for St. Brown as the Irish have been on the receivers short list for some time.

"Notre Dame was very impressive," St. Brown said. "I was there for about six hours and it felt like an official visit because I did so much. We toured the whole campus, talked with the academic people and then I sat down with the coaching staff to watch film.

"They're all business at Notre Dame and great coaches. They talked about their offense and what my role would be and how I would fit in. I felt very comfortable there and had a great trip. Coach Kelly and the staff are recruiting me harder than anyone right now so I'm very high on them."

St. Brown mentioned several other schools he's considering including USC, UCLA, Stanford, LSU and Tennessee.

"I'm going to take my official visits in the fall but haven't set any dates or even decided where to visit yet," St. Brown said. "I might narrow my list down to five or 10 at the end of the summer but I haven't decided on that yet either.

"Right now, I'm just enjoying the process and going to take my time. I'm going to look at where I'm most comfortable and where I'll fit in the best on and off the field. I talk to Tee Martin at USC a lot and have a good relationship with him. I've talked with Coach Shaw at Stanford and Coach Yarber at UCLA too but like I said, it's early for me and I have a long time to figure all this out."
