Martin Ready For Local Camps

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive lineman Frank Martin will camp at local schools this weekend...

Frank Martin, currently rated the No. 108 player in the '16 class, is a very talented tackle prospect and will be a national recruit in two years. He's a big kid, all of 6-foot-5, 295 pounds, very physical and just mauls opposing linemen at the H.S level.

Martin plays right tackle for the Monarchs but could also move to guard at the next level if necessary. Like all lineman that come out of Mater Dei, he's already advanced technique wide, finishes plays and has a very nice upside to him.

On the recruiting front, Martin landed his first offer from California six weeks ago and has landed an offer a week ever since.

"It's been funny, I have six total now, exactly one a week since the Cal offer," Martin said. "I also have Oregon State, Utah, Washington, Washington State and then Arizona State is my most recent offer.

"I camped at ASU last week when they came out here for a Satellite Camp and it went really well. I worked out with the tackles and guards and afterwards, Coach Thomsen, the OL Coach, told me they want to offer and said to call them because they're not allowed to do it in person.

"So as I was leaving, I called him up and got the offer. I like ASU, they're recruiting me hard and I talk with not just Coach Thomsen but Coach Norvell and Long too so I have a lot of interest there."

On Saturday, Martin will head to USC for the Trojans OL-DL Camp.

"Growing up, I always rooted for USC," Martin said. "I had a Reggie Bush jersey and was actually in tears when they lost to Texas in the National Title Game. I'm excited for the camp and hoping it goes well for me."

"On Sunday, I'm hoping to camp at UCLA. I tried to sign up online but it was full but I talked with Coach Klemm and he wants me to come out so I'll be out there and I have a lot of interest in UCLA as well right now."

Martin wasn't sure if he'll do any other camps following the two local ones but he is planning to make several unofficial visits.

"I'm for sure going to visit Arizona and ASU," Martin said. "I want to try and get to Notre Dame and Stanford too. Notre Dame has been talking to me a lot, they're a big time program so it would be great to check them out.

"I visited Cal for Junior Day and should have checked out Stanford that same weekend. Cal was nice, I like Coach Yenser and enjoyed being there. Tennessee is another school I would like to visit in the summer if I can but don't have anything set up with any of these schools right now."
