Howard Staying In Touch

Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian outside linebacker Trevor Howard (6-3 ¾, 225) is camping with USC this week in hopes of picking up a new Pac-12 offer.

"I'm hoping to get some more attention from USC," said Howard. "They and UCLA have really picked it up."

Howard's uncle played at UCLA and the Bruins have had a nice history at Oaks Christian of late.

"I'm definitely really interested in UCLA too," said Howard.

Howard has four offers, from California, Nevada, Idaho and Holy Cross.

"Arizona State has been talking to me a lot and Arizona as well has picked up their recruiting with me," said Howard. "So I'm just hoping for some more from USC and UCLA."

Howard said Cal, the first school to offer him, leads.

"They're my top school," said Howard. "I'm very interested in them. I had been up there a few times before they offered and I went to their Junior Day but I'm going again in a couple of weeks on my dead period."

Howard said all of his attention is coming as a defensive end/outside linebacker hybrid.

"I'm playing tight end in 7v7 right now but all of my offers are for defense," said Howard. "I want to add 10 more pounds but at the same time, I don't want to slow down."

Howard isn't in a rush to make a decision.

"I have until February so I'll wait it out and see what happens," said Howard.
