With nine offers already in, Long said the spring kicked it off.
"It really got going and came in about the third week of the spring evaluation period," said Long. "A whole bunch of offers came."
"I played with Team D1 for 7v7 with Marvell Tell and Desean Holmes and Taeon Mason and really learned a lot from them and playing with them and knew to just be patient and they would start coming in," said Long. "But I didn't expect it to be like that."
One of his former coaches at Loyola, Kennedy Polamalu, is now at UCLA and he said he is who offered him.
"Coach Polamalu offered me and he knew me from Loyola," said Long. "But Coach Yarbs (Eric Yarber) is also recruiting me. I spent a lot of time with him at the camp last week. UCLA just offered me as an athlete."
Long also camped at USC, where his current head coach, Marvin Sanders, formerly coached and while the Trojans didn't offer, they spoke highly of him.
"I was at Rising Stars last week and Coach Tee Martin is recruiting me and we talked a lot," said Long. "He said they just wanted to watch some games of me this year, but they're really interested and they like me and that Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian) liked me."
Long said he went to several USC and UCLA games last year.
"I always liked them both because they're close to home and I went to a bunch of games last year," said Long. "I didn't really root for one or the other."
Long said that his recruitment is coming for a myriad of positions.
"Some schools like me as a corner and some schools like me as a receiver," said Long. "I don't really have a direct preference. I like corner and receiver and have put in at both at camps."
With a lot of time to Signing Day 2016 to make a decision, Long said he'll take it all in.
"Next year, about this time, I'll start narrowing it down, but it's all still really new and early to me," said Long.
