Young Will Make Return Trip

The Peoria (Ariz.) Centennial jumbo athlete, Dedrick Young, visited UCLA last week and plans to visit UCLA again this month...

Peoria (Ariz.) Centennial two-way prospect Dedrick Young (6-1, 218) has taken a swing through a few out-of-state Pac-12 schools.

Young camped at Washington and USC and visited UCLA in the last couple of weeks.

"I worked out at Washington for a session, visited UCLA and then went to the USC camp for a session," said Young. "It was cool."

Young started by visiting Seattle.

"I did the morning session at Washington and went really good," said Young. "The coaches are really cool and the campus was really nice and great. They like me as a linebacker."

Then he headed to Los Angeles, where he camped with USC.

"USC's camp went really good," said Young. "I liked the high tempo and high energy they have. I just did one session and didn't get a chance to take a tour but it was still good being there. You could tell they wanted to win."

Finally, he unofficially visited UCLA, who had offered him a couple weeks prior.

"I just toured the campus and talked with Coach (Kennedy) Polamalu and Coach (DeShaun) Foster," said Young. "They're both good guys and really relatable. There were only two coaches there because of vacation so I'm going back in July to meet the rest of the coaches."

After Young visits UCLA later in the month, he'll start to trim his list down.

"I think either late July or early August, I'll come up with a top 5-6," said Young. "I'm still pretty wide open. But I'm going to relax for the next couple of weeks."
