Notes From Today at The Opening

We'll have news and updates throughout the day from The Opening...

The Scout team is out in force at The Opening today, and we'll keep updating with all the latest news right here on the front page.

Update 11:54 A.M.:

Andre James will announce his college decision on Thursday. We're hearing that UCLA is looking good right now.

UCLA receiver prospect Christian Kirk ran a 4.47 in the 40 during the combine. While Texas A&M is the odds on favorite for the receiver, we've heard that Josh Rosen is going to be putting in a strong pitch for the Bruins this week.

UCLA commit Alize Jones measured in a 6'5, 220 pounds and scored a 123.75 SPARQ rating. He ran a 4.03 shuttle, and a 4.67 40, both very good times for a guy his size. He also had a 37" vertical, which is a good measure of explosiveness.

Stephen Johnson will announce his college decision tonight. During the SPARQ combine, he ran a 4.37 40 and had a 35" vertical, both very good scores for a slot receiver/cornerback type. While he will most likely announce for Oregon tonight, this could be the kind of recruitment that goes back and forth all the way to Signing Day.

Malik Jefferson, the linebacker prospect from Texas, ran a freaky 4.39 40. While it might be a long shot for UCLA to land the No. 1 OLB, the Bruins are very likely getting an official visit.

We'll have more updates as the day continues...
