The Opening: Jamabo Talks UCLA

2015 four-star Plano (Tex.) West running back Sotonye Jamabo had an excellent week at The Opening and talked afterward about where UCLA, Notre Dame, and other stand in his recruitment...

Sotonye Jamabo, a 6-foot-2, 206-pound running back from Plano (Texas) West High excels at football and basketball, but he knows where his bread is buttered.

"I know where my money is and I am playing football," Jamabo said with a smile. "Mixing both sports helps (training wise) definitely. I feel like I am in real good shape right now."

On the recruiting front Jamabo mentioned in-state schools like Baylor and Texas A&M as well as out of state schools like UCLA, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Arizona State as the most likely destinations.

He had the recent opportunity to travel to UCLA and Notre Dame and he recapped bot stops.

UCLA - "Well I had a good time at UCLA. It is Hollywood out there and I feel like I have a little bit of Hollywood in me. I just like the scene. It is a different scene from Texas and the East Coast as well, so I just like getting out and seeing the world. I got to meet some of the players and hang out with them, they are a lot of fun. They are also on the come up."

Notre Dame - "It is a whole different scene from UCLA, so it was different. They have a whole different chemistry, but I like the coaches and all the tradition that comes with it."

He then recapped the two in-state schools on his list and why he likes them.

Baylor - "Baylor has a lot of speed and they are on the come up. As far as offense goes they are starting to get a lot of backs and it would be fun to go there."

TAMU - "A&M has become the powerhouse of Texas and doing a lot of different things. I am getting recruited by a lot of the kids that are here and you just have to give a listen and do what is the best for you."
