Lucier-South Talks Officials

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Orange (Calif.) Lutheran five-star outside linebacker Keisean Lucier-South put his hand on the ground at The Opening and showed why he is one of the top pass rushers in the country.

Saturday, Lucier-South was back in passing league mode playing outside linebacker for the Lancers. It’s the position USC, UCLA and several other programs continue to recruit him at.

“D-end, outside linebacker, pretty much the same thing,” said Lucier-South. “Coach (Jeff) Ulbrich is on me everyday. He really wants me to be an outside linebacker for (UCLA).

“He DMs me everyday on Twitter. I really respect that because they’ve been doing that since my sophomore year.”

But the Bruins aren’t the only ones putting the full court press on Lucier-South.

“SC now, again,” said Lucier-South. “UCLA, Oregon, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Notre Dame. They all really want me to come down there to check out their schools.

“They want me to see their campus during the summertime, but I don’t think I’m going to make because I don’t have enough time. I’m trying to figure out what official visits I’m going to do for the fall.”

USC’s push for Lucier-South picked up since his unofficial visit to their campus in June.

“They took a break,” said Lucier-South. “They had a two-week span for a break. Now they’re really on me and want me to go to every game. They want me to go to campus and check out the team.”

Lucier-South will determine his official visit schedule in early August. Lucier-South has yet to determine how that schedule will play out, although he would like to take his visits during his senior season.
