VIDEO: Brendel on O-Line

Jake Brendel talks about the development of Conor McDermott and Malcolm Bunche and whether any freshmen have stood out to him...

Jake Brendel:

On the offensive line's progression:
We still have a lot of things to work on, that's always the main thing. It's just something we need to come out here, take the time, better our craft and our technique.

On Malcolm Bunche:
He really got in shape being in this high tempo offense. You really don't have a choice. He's like 28 years old or something. He's a more vocal leader than what I saw in spring. It's nice to have someone else there to pick up what I missed.

On Connor McDermott:
Connor's good. He's always been the guy, if we needed a hole filled, he'd fill it. He's real consistent, he knows the offense. It's nice to have a guy out there who knows what's going on and if he needs to do it, he'll do it.

On Alex Redmond:
Alex is more physical, but at the same time, a lot more in control. Last season he got a little overextended and out of control. Now he's honing his skills.

On the freshman defensive linemen:
I've been against Kenny Clark the whole time. That's always fun.

On Brett Hundley:
Him as a leader has only gotten better since Day One that he's been here. Every single day he's tried to perfect his leadership skills. It's reached what we consider a peak. It's always nice to have him out there and guiding us in the right direction.
