Marvell Tell is the top rated safety out west and the No. 43 overall player in the country. He has all the physical tools to be an early impact player including size, athleticism, range, toughness and instincts. He shows good ball skills, plays hard and is one of those players that is always around the ball.
"I have my first official this weekend to Oregon," Tell said. "I'm excited, they're playing Michigan State so it should be a great game. I've heard a lot of great things about Oregon and the game atmosphere there so I'm really looking forward to getting out there.
"My other visits will be to Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Texas A&M. I don't have any other dates set yet but I may try and get another one in during the season during our bye week, which is the weekend of September 19. The rest of the visits will likely be when our season is over."
As for the Bruins and Trojans, Tell has already visited both and will likely take unofficial visits to each before Signing Day.
"Yeh, they're close enough to visit any time," Tell said. "I plan to attend some of their games and will try and visit both of them. I feel like I already have a good idea of what both schools have to offer so I wanted to use my official trips on schools outside the region.
"Right now, I don't have a leader, I like all these schools. I plan to take all these trips and then once I'm done, I'll sit back and evaluate everything and go from there."
