Quenton Meeks is one of the region's top two-way athletes with the ability to play corner, safety or receiver in college. He's a big corner, close to 6-2, 185 pounds, has very good ball skills and has an advanced feel for the game. He doesn't have blazing speed but is a good athlete and more athletic than given credit for, as evidenced by his 40" vertical jump at the SoCal NIKE Camp last March.
On the recruiting front, Meeks said he's close to narrowing his list and has a good idea on a few of his official visits.
"I've talked to some schools about official visits but haven't locked anything in yet," Meeks said. "I actually shut my phone off for a week before our first game two weeks ago. I wanted to get ready and not have any distractions so I'm getting back in to recruiting a little bit now.
"I know I'm going to visit California, Stanford and Vanderbilt for sure, those are the only set ones I know but again, I'm not exactly sure when those dates will be. I'm not saying those are my top three or anything, those are just the ones I've talked to about taking a visit."
UCLA is another school that remains high on his list.
"UCLA is very much in the picture," Meeks said. "That was one of my first offers and they'll always be on the list. I camped there already but I could still take a visit, I just haven't talked to them about it yet. Right now, my first goal is to cut my list down to five or so and then just go from there."
