Johnson Amassing Big List of Schools

SEP. 15 -- Dallas (Tex.) Skyline prospect Kylan Johnson is a great all-around athlete, being recruited primarily as a safety while throwing for almost 700 yards in his first two outings at quarterback...

Kylan Johnson and his Dallas (Texas) Skyline teammates staved off a late rally from Arlington (Texas) Martin to secure 53-48 win.

In the game Johnson completed 21-of-27 passes for 393 yards and four touchdowns, making it a back-to-back 300 plus yard four touchdown performances to open the season.

Johnson says he owes his success on the field to the preparation.

"It's been hard, we practice hard, the coaches stay on us hard," Johnson said of his teams preparation behind a 2-0 start.

"They are glad that this game happened to just see what we had deep down in us."

"I am glad that this is my team and we are going to practice hard and we are going to play hard forever. Me and my team are a family."

On the recruiting front Johnson has quietly racked up an impressive offer list citing schools like "Kansas State, Arkansas, UCLA, Iowa State, and Wisconsin" as his main ones.

"Arkansas is coming after me the most, Arkansas and Kansas State." Johnson answered when asked who was recruiting him the hardest to this point.

At 6-foot-3, 205 pounds Johnson is a big-framed athlete. From talking with him it sounds like most schools have initially targeted him on defense, but his plays on offense could open some eyes.

"I'm not sure I am going to make that decision on down the road," Johnson swiftly answered when asked what position fits him best on the next level.

"I guess they (colleges) are going to recruit me as an athlete."
