VIDEO: Wadood on First Start

SEP. 22 -- Freshman safety Jaleel Wadood talks about getting his first start and whether he had any nerves playing in Dallas...

Jaleel Wadood talks about the nerves of getting his first start in an environment like Cowboys Stadium:

On if he has jitters going into his first Pac-12 game:
No, the same ones. I still get those pregame butterflies. I'm just ready to go and get out there with the team and hopefully get a W.

On if he had any other takeaway's after watching Texas film:
Some things I need to do more correctly, technique wise. I wasn't necessarily looking at the good things I did, but the bad things, so I can fix those on the field.

On his comfort level:
I'm way comfortable now. Coach always tells me 'you play now, you're not a freshman anymore.' Watching film, studying my plays and just perfecting my craft.

On his first start being in AT&T Stadium:
Well, I'm only 18 so I was a little nervous. But after the first drive, it became football and I went out and played for my team.

On avoiding distractions:
Those are always out of my head before games. It's about what they're about to do, getting that W with my team and I was just thinking about football.

On if he caught himself looking at the big screen:
I did sometimes, I had to soak in the moment.

On Arizona State:
They're a very good football team and they have a great program over there. Hopefully Thursday we can show them what we can do as Bruins.
