VIDEO: Brendel on UCLA's O-Line Breakdowns

OCT. 5 -- Jake Brendel talks about the issues on the offensive line that contributed to the ten sacks given up...

Jake Brendel talks about the many issues that the offensive line had in containing Utah's pass rush:

On their preparation:
Every single team we play is going to be a good opponent. We always prepare differently for each opponent, but we always prepare as best as we can and our preparation didn't pay off.

On if Utah did anything different:
Not really, we pretty much knew what they were going to do. We had a few unscouted looks but thing we've seen before in the season. Nothing we haven't seen.

On building off this loss:
I know a lot of people on this team hate losing more than they love winning and we use that momentum and drive within ourselves to have a great week or preperation this week.

On if there was any mixup:
It wasn't so much scheme, we just didn't take care of our job and that's something we need to correct on film and work on our technique this week to get ready for Oregon.

On if Utah's overload was unscouted:
We'd seen that before. It's a pretty simple blitz, but at the same time, we didn't pick it up.

On if things snowballed:
The biggest thing within the line is doing our job and make sure we help everyone around us and get our assignment done before anything else. Our job is a huge job. It's something we take pride in. And it's something we need to do better because of the stats and we have things to fix. Communication wasn't a big deal. Everyone knew the blitzes and stunts, but at the same time, we have to correct those mistakes and get ready for Oregon.

On sacks:
A sack is going to always represent the offensive line, no matter where it comes from, it's the nature of the beast. We have to come back and make sure we do correct those mistakes.
